New South Wales homeowners, investors and lenders are benefiting from increased efficiency as Propell National Valuers introduces full in-field tablet technology.
Residential valuers have each received a portable unit valued at $5000 which enables full inspections and analysed market data to be processed quicker so that clients receive vital property information, in most cases the same day as the inspection.
Propell National Valuers CEO Bart Mead said the investment was significant, and aligned with the company’s direction to provide quality, efficient services for clients.
“Our clients expect quality reports quickly, and tablet technology is allowing us to capture data and complete worksheets and field notes on site before the report progresses through our quality check points.
“The entire process takes place at a much faster rate than we could have ever managed when we were using pen and paper, and it has improved our quality control at the same time.
“We have rolled out 150 units across every state and territory and the results have been astounding.
“Lenders, government, corporate and private clients can now receive their valuation reports sooner,” Mr Mead said.
While the introduction of tablet technology in the property industry is not new, Propell is the first Australian valuation company to introduce it in every state and territory.
The tablet replaces traditional pen and paper processes, and reduces the time spent manually collating data and compiling reports, allowing for more in-field valuation analysis to take place.
With the introduction of the technology, Propell staff are reporting improved productivity and reduced after-hours workload.
Chief Operating Officer and New South Wales State Manager Mark Nassif said the company’s investment has improved turnaround times as well as further boosting staff morale.
“Staff are excited at how their working day has changed with the new technology.
“Many used to spend their days carrying out field inspections and then completing paperwork at night to be audited the next day.
“Now that it’s all done in the same process, there’s no pressure to complete reports after hours. We are receiving fantastic feedback from our valuers.
“Introducing the tablets to every residential valuer has been a great decision. It’s benefiting both valuers and clients,” Mr Nassif said.
The tablets will be further rolled out to Propell’s commercial and advisory teams from mid 2012 enabling data collection and commencement of report population to be undertaken in the field.
Implementing the technology for commercial valuations will be an industry first.
